6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
We will be holding an SH&E Professionals Mentoring Roundtable, Book Fest, and free dinner on June 26, 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Sockeye Grill, 3019 N Cole Road, Boise.
Please join us for networking and no-host bar at 6:00pm, followed by a brief meeting, Dinner will be provided thanks to our generous sponsors BasicSafe and Waterland LLC. We are soliciting one more sponsor if you are interested!
Our roundtable will feature Nate Spencer (Area B Director from Region 2 ASSP), David Kearns (OSHA Idaho Area Director), Jerret Bratton (Safety Manager, Micron), and Emilee McCullough (recent graduate).
The SH&E field can be vast – and little decisions can make a big difference in a professional career. The intention of this meeting is to provide open feedback and answers to questions that many new professionals have about the many specializations and work performed within the profession, and what actions can be taken to start them off on a desired trajectory into the future. We also will be enlisting the help of chapter members to be assigned as mentors to students entering the SH&E field.
We’re also having a Technical Book Fest! We have seven boxes of technical safety, environmental and industrial hygiene books (in pretty much perfect condition) available for free or for an optional small donation (which will fund student memberships). These are primarily from the late Willie Piispanen’s collection, including some he co-authored! They include ASSE’s The Safety Professionals’ Handbook, ASSE’s Construction Safety Management and Engineering, The Occupational Environment-Its Evaluation and Control, NSC Supervisor’s Safety Manual, and many ergonomic and environmental manuals and reference books. This is a perfect opportunity to start or expand your collection of essential reference books. You will not be disappointed.
Please come and enjoy dinner thanks to our sponsors Waterland LLC and BasicSafe and help us kick off our mentoring campaign!
