Chapter Meeting

Learn advanced strategies for eliminating musculoskeletal injuries at our February meeting!

As safety professionals we are bound by the laws and regulations that govern our profession. When we need clarification on something, we look it up, do a little dance of interpretation, and then implement a solution that works 99% of the time.

When it comes to the less concrete areas of our profession (such as minimizing musculoskeletal injuries) many safety professionals throw out what looks similar to witchcraft spells and hope that it works. Results tend to be hit or miss in the short-term, and long-term results rarely get enough attention (via data) to be able to really tell if they worked. It’s the one area of the profession where there’s more gray area than black and white – hence a reason that OSHA hasn’t dared tried to regulate it just yet.

In this presentation, Jason Barry, Sr. Consultant/Manager with BSI Group, will cover what has been shown to work and what hasn’t when it comes to minimizing musculoskeletal injuries (MSDs). In reality, there doesn’t have to be so much gray area fogging up your ergonomics program. We’ll show you the basic and advanced strategies that you can start implementing right away to make a clear impact on MSDs at your organization.

Everyone is welcome—please bring your friends and colleagues. We hope to see you there!
