Topic Yes, I DO Own the Road! Navigating Cars and Bicycles

Diana Papili will cover Idaho Rules of the Road and discuss some of the areas of conflict between bicycles and vehicles so that we can avoid incidents. Learn what to watch out for, as a bicyclist, motorist, and pedestrian, so we can all travel safely!

Speaker Diana Papili

Diana has been an adult road bicyclist for 32 years and cycled the U.S. Italy, Wales, Slovenia, Croatia, and Grand Cayman. She stopped totaling miles after 20,000, and that was 20 years ago! She’s done week-long tours; national parks, country roads, Interstates, bridges, tunnels, and water. She’s experienced snow, hail, rain, sleet, and wind that picked up and moved her and bike over ~3 feet! She learned the hard way that you can’t bicycle in a buffalo herd! Just ask, and Diana will tell you where people have been most receptive to bicyclists and where they haven’t. She’ll also admit: “Sometimes, bicyclists can be their own worst enemies.” Diana works hard to help both motorists and bicyclists have a more peaceful co-existence.
